FISHKILL– A sport utility vehicle ran a red light and struck a four-door sedan on Route 9 and Merritt Boulevard at approximately 9:15 p.m. Sunday, the Rombout Fire Department said.

The sedan was making a left turn into Wal-Mart, according to the fire department, when the SUV traveling south on Route 9 ran a red light and collided with the sedan.

He said the victims had to be extricated from the vehicles.
