On August 27th around 7:00 p.m. Rombout Fire Department was dispatched to a car fire on I-84 west bound.

Upon arrival of fire chief John Lucariello he advised Dutchess County 911 that he had a well involved pickup fire on the side of the road and that I-84 would be closed due to fire operations.

The fire was put out within a few minutes of the first pumper on the scene at that time the fire chief requested the Dutchess County fire investigation team to the scene. All units on the scene were clear around 9:30 p.m.
