FISHKILL, NY– Rombout FD responded to a house fire at 11 Hampshire Road, Fishkill. With Rombout, Village of Fishkill (PECO), and Hughsonville FD, NY State Police, Town of Fishkill PD, Town of Fishkill Animal Control Unit and Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division responded to the scene. East Fishkill provided standby coverage for Rombout FD. Several firefighters were treated at the scene for heat-related injury. No other injuries are reported. The Dutchess County Fire Investigation team reported the fire started in the rear bedroom and the cause is accidental. No one was in the house at the time of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the family of four with housing. One dog and possibly two cats perished in the fire, with several turtles and three dogs unharmed.
