Rombout Fire Company prides itself in being proactive in Fire Prevention. Rombout works hard in providing the following services:
Rombout Fire Company received a donation of Smoke Detectors from Home Depot. Rombout has offered these to area residents for free. If anyone has questions about the installation or needs help with installation, Rombout is available to help free of charge.
Rombout provides Fire Prevention Education to area residents of Fishkill. Rombout has available a fire prevention safety trailer to bring to your event. Rombout teaches at Brinkerhoff School, St Mary's of Fishkill, and helps Glenham at Glenham Elemtary school each fall for Fire Prevention week. Rombout is also available for nursery/day care, businesses, and senior citizens groups as well.
Our Fire Safety Trailer is an invaluable asset to our community. It features the latest technology in teaching children about Fire Safety, how and when to dial 911, and what to do in the event of a fire. The trailer helps us to teach Exit Drills in the Home (EDITH) along with safety around the house with it's kitchen and bedrooms. The trailer is equipped with a non-toxic smoke generator and can simulate hot doors to help with education. Through this interactive training concept, we are able to keep the children focused as they enthusiastically partake in each lesson. If you would like to have our Fire Safety Trailer make an appearance at your school or community organization, please call the Fire House at 845-896-8620 and ask to speak to the Captain.
Rombout in coordination with Dutchess 911 has a house watch program where citizens with special needs or circumstances can provide information to us that is kept with 911. In the event that an emergency is reported, Dutchess 911 will provide this information to all first responders assuring your safety. Information such as a special needs individual, lock box key, oxygen needs, can be given.
