Rombout Monthly Activity Report
The year 2003 ended with a record number of emergency calls responded to, a 12% increase over the year 2002. Rombout Fire Department responded 48 calls in the month of December including twenty motor vehicles accidents, a building fire under mutual aid to Cold Spring, 11 automatic alarms, four smoke conditions and three carbon monoxide alarms in buildings, two medical assists, one chimney fire, one call for power lines down in the road, one stove fire, two water pump outs and one oil spill. Rombout FD responded under mutual aid with Glenham and Chelsea Fire Departments for an auto accident on I-84. This makes a grand total of 479 calls for the year 2003.
Blood-Borne Pathogens training was given by Alamo EMS Instructor Andrew DiLuvio on the prevention and proper handling of patients at medical emergencies or accident scenes to avoid transmission of illnesses.
