(FISHKILL, NY) Members of the Rombout Fire Company responded to accident involving a motor vehicle hitting a bicyclist at 5:42 pm Sunday evening, March 18, at the intersection of Baxtertown and Ridge Road in the Town of Fishkill.

The adult male bicyclist was transported from the scene of the accident by Mobile Life to Rombout Station 1 on Route 52 where he was airlifted from by New York State Police helicopter to Westchester Medical Center with severe injuries. The adult driver of the car was not injured in the accident.

Responding to the scene with Rombout was Mobile Life, Town of Fishkill Police Department and the Dutchess County Sheriff Office who are investigating the cause of the accident. This is the third time the landing zone at Rombout Station 1 was used to airlift a severely injured victim for medical treatment.
